Nottingham University Hospital – GICU

23rd June 2015

The General Intensive Care Unit at the hospital has been fitted with a series of specialist switchable glass screens located in the corridor wall so that the nursing staff can monitor the activities with the suites that is particularly important in the infection control areas. When patient dignity or emergency intervention is requited the nurses can switch to the frosted state. The unique controls system monitors movement so that when the room is empty the system locks down into the failsafe frosted mode to preserve the longevity of the glass.
